Hoy, all. With recent financial crisis, one question has come up. IS the institution of Political parties possibly at fault for the lack of a solution? Let me quote some sayings that I say says possibly yes.
First, and most obvious: "United We stand, Divided We Fall.", the All American saying
Second: George Washington said at his final speech that political parties should never be instated, because, "They will be the Nation's Downfall."
I mean, with only two ideals to follow, aren't we fairly lacking in options here?

This is a issue I've always had. Is the two political party system lacking in options? At one point I said yes, one point no, and now I have no idea. I think it may be better if we had 3 or 4 instead of just two. This way, we had more views, more options, but we're keeping out possibly dangerous options, like the extremely extreme parties.

of course, the free proliferation of ideals and theories is a good thing... You can't put so many limits on the system, or you risk being... what's the word............. Oppressive... maybe, you risk being seen as a censor.

Which is why I dislike political parties. I prefer Open Races.

Open races allow for more deception, with a party behind a candidate you have an idea of the candidate's platform, even with all the lies.

I agree with Yich on that. I don't think we should ever do away completely with Political parties. They kind of show what a politician is really thinking, for the most part.

No, they make the politicians play dress up until they get into office, in my opinion. But, either way, not like we can stop it.

Problem is, its hard to set anything in stone with this issue, as some actually follow their parties views. On the other side though, many just ignore what they said they were going to do and sit back and let things get bad.
