That's right people, its finally here. I'm going to explain how to make a detailed and sexy looking military. Something important I want to tell everyone, don't just take and copy a military. Its very important that you make the military how you want it to work. You will understand when you begin to RP. Everyone has their own style and class. Now, a sometimes hard to understand concept is taht militaries need support. They need guys to drive trucks, work as field doctors, fix tanks, etc. I will explain that all here.
SPECIAL NOTE: You're probably wondering how to figure out how many people are in a tank or ship. Research them. I will post some help later, when I find everything I need.

Army, Marines, and similar land forces are your typical infantry. Typically Marines are going to go in first and come out last. During that time you're fighting you will need support crews. There will be a guy on the computer, there will be a truck driver bringing ammo. These are all important. Now, how many will be doing that? I'm glad you asked. It goes back to economics. I'm sure you're sick of economics by now, however, it is important. Nations with a "Good" economy or better can get away with only 40% of their infantry forces being support crews. The lower economies will have to have 50% being support. This is all due to technology. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Now, a little about Armored units. Typically you have a armored section for your troops. How many should you put in there? It's really up to you. Remember though, money doesn't grow on trees. I recommend only up to 10% of your total forces being in the armored section. I know I used to say 20-30, however, after reviewing some things I came to realize a 10% armored area is reasonable. It all goes back to money.

The Air Force. The Air Force is even harder for crews. For this I'm going to breakdown easier:
Right off the bat, take 2/3rds away. These are land crews.
2/3 will be Support. They will include: Troops transports, Refueling planes, Radar/spy planes, transport planes.
1/3 will be fighters and bombers.

Naval forces are similar in breakdown to the Air Force.
Right off the bat, take 2/3rds and apply them to land support. They will be your computer techs, doctors, etc.
The other 1/3 will be your actual ship crews. -1/2 will be fleet replenishment and troop ships. -1/4 will be Landing and Assault ships. These are your sea to land forces. -1/4 will be actual combatants.

Special forces will be a even 50% split. These forces depend on your nation. Normally they will never work in more than groups of eight, so you really don't need to get detailed with this.

I call the next group "Originals". These are forces that are specially designed by nations. These groups are only original in design. When someone creates their own military branch, however, they need to remember to have support crews though. Every branch of the miltiary, no matter how tough, will need food, clothing, ammo, etc.

Spending Per Soldier is important. The U.S. spends $360,000 per soldier and they are considered to be the strongest military. Now, you can go down a bit and still have a decent military. Remember though, your spending per soldier includes training, payment, and gear.

NOTE: Naval change due to my error! Combatants is actually 1/4, not 1/2.

Compulsitory military service: This DOES NOT mean that your entire nation is military. This means tha at the age of 20, every man is drafted into the military for a certain amount of time. Obviously, not everybody in your nation is 20, probably not even ten percent, so take that into consideration.
